The Singer 590 was manufactured is a sewing machine with a great degree of quality. This sewing machine was tested on 3 layer of leather, 8 layer of heavy jeans, and worked great. This sewing machine use standard 15x1 needle, sizes 9 to 22. You can buy at any fabric store. All tests were made using a #18 needle and coats T26 upholstery thread. This is a great low shank machine that has been professionally cleaned & oiled brought up to factory standards. This wonderful machine is low shank & comes with a wide array of attachments & the instruction book. Singer 590 has three needle built in position, a professional blind hem, takes a class 66 bobbin, & is perfect for sewing around the house or boat projects.
