DOB: Aug 28, 2008 Breed: Pug mix Sex: Male Weight: 24 pounds, lean & fit Coat: medium Color: Chestnut Neutered Kennel trained Gibson is an energetic, fun loving and sweet 1yr old pug mix. He was rescued from Tennessee in June and has been fostered with a family in West Hartford, CT since. This family has three young kids, ages 4, 8, 12, a female two year old puggle, an older cat and a guinea pig. Gibson has a blast with the puggle (wrestle, play tag/fetch, and have fun exploring together) and is very respectful of the female cat and the male guinea pig. Gibson sleeps in a kennel every night, is trained with an invisible fence and does very well on walks/runs. He is about 80% house trained (he may go #2 in the house on rainy days when he doesn't get a walk). He loves to go for walks/runs!! He doesn't bark much unless he finds a chipmunk or bird. Because he still is a puppy he likes to chew and needs to have an eye kept on him to make sure he is chewing his toys and the not the kids toys or other objects. When Gibson first arrived at the foster house he had a defensive aggressive nature. He would never proactively lunge out but when he felt threatened he would growl and show his teeth. He has since stopped this behavior as he feels more comfortable. When verbally disciplined, Gibson becomes submissive and tucks his tail and even lies down on his back when a male foster parent speaks. He is temperamental with other dogs especially when on the leash. The foster parents feel he is protecting his owners. He is aggressive and will snap at another dog if the dog gets close and Gibson is not restrained. He is a sweet dog, needs exercise, loves attention, will cuddle and sleep with you if you let him. He is healthy, athletic, fun and will love and protect his owners. Gibson needs some training in situations when strange dogs come around. Please contact Chey at cheyotto@yahoo.com for an application
